"For Jenin" | Emergency Rehabilitation Initiative to Support Persons with Disabilities in Jenin
Palestine Country: Palestine

Project Overview

For months, the city of Jenin and its camp have been facing dire humanitarian conditions, with growing essential needs among vulnerable groups—especially persons with disabilities, the elderly, women, children, and low-income families. Given the limited resources of local institutions, an urgent rehabilitation intervention has become necessary to restore a minimum level of dignity and resilience for these affected populations.

The Jalil Charitable Society for Community Care and Rehabilitation launches this project in partnership with supporting organizations, aiming to provide specialized rehabilitative and medical services to improve the quality of life for the most vulnerable in the city.

The project aims to empower persons with disabilities and fragile groups in Jenin by providing assistive tools, medical equipment, and prosthetic limbs. It also includes physical therapy, psychological support, and equipping the organization’s facilities with essential medical devices—ensuring a comprehensive and sustainable rehabilitation response that enhances quality of life and social integration.

Project Activities:

  • Distribution of assistive tools with safe-use training for beneficiaries

  • Fitting of prosthetic limbs and orthopedic devices

  • Provision of physiotherapy, occupational therapy, and psychosocial support

  • Procurement of essential medical devices, such as electric therapy machines and medical beds

  • Training the organization's team on proper use of the new equipment

Targeted Beneficiaries:
Persons with disabilities of all kinds, children, the elderly, women, and marginalized families in Jenin and its camp.
